Your favorite what's happening update is here. Not a minute late. We hope you had fun with all the events that were happening last week in Nairobi. We sure did and it's time to get to it again. It's Friday! Well, honestly though any day is a good day to have a good time in Nairobi, just that the weekends can be epic! Yes we said that, without boring you here's what's happening..
The Nairobi Goat Derby

Yes it's happening and it might be a chance to tell people you attended one. That is if they don't happen on your side of the world. It's happening this Sunday 14th October 2012 at the Ngong Race Course. This fun event is organized to raise money for charity. Be there and do take lots of pictures. For more details check here
Sax in the City

For all those who love hearing a sax, you're in luck. Nairobi's premiere saxophone event- Sax in the city is happening on the 20th of October at the International School of Kenya. Pack your bags and get ready for a wonderful listening experience. More on it here.
Airtel Floodlight Tournament

We talked about how much Kenyans love their rugby here if you haven't seen how much You need to be there this weekend. It's happening at the Impala grounds on the 13th and on the 120th of October. Get some sunscreen, a hat and get ready to cheer the teams. Have fun!
Kenya's best Photographs

We're excited about this because it features 25 photographers showing off Kenya in an exhibition titled: The Year in Pictures 2012. It is a collaboration between the Godown Arts Centre and the Photojournalists association of Kenya. (We're two minutes away from the Godown so if you have an hour or more free let us know and we'll organize a visit) The exhibition is running through the month of October. More info here.
October's Here
October's finally here. With it are a whole lot of events we almost can't detail them on. So get ready to paint Nairobi red or purple or whatever color you'd like.
Nairobi Fashion Week
The Nairobi Fashion Week is back. Billed as the original discount shopping experience, it's a must visit. It will be running on both Saturday and Sunday 6th and 7th October. Starts at 10 and features a fashion show from some of Kenya's acclaimed designers like Kaveke, Yaka Yeke and more. For details on what to look forward to look at their website here.
Blankets and Wine

This Sunday 7th you better have plans for the Blankets and Wine picnic+music. Thankfully it's not too far from us. This Sunday the highlights are rapper extraordinaire Juliani, the fresh and talented Fena Menal, Harry Kimani and more. This eclectic mix of performers is sure to keep you dancing all day. Kisumu- Niko na Safaricom Concert

If you're in Kisumu no worrries too the Safaricom Niko Na Concert is in town. It features Sauti Sol, Camp Mulla and others with Jua Cali as a guest performer. Details here.

What's Happening in Nairobi?
There has been so much happening in Nairobi the last couple of days and there's even more to look forward to. Here's our roundup on what's happening thanks to our friends from Nairobi Now.
James Ingram in Concert

The man himself is in town and set to perform tomorrow at Kasarani Stadium. The cost is about 60USD for a regular ticket and 120 USD for a VIP ticket. The gates open at 4.30, find more information here.
The Samosa Festival
First things first it's not about that much loved Kenyan snack the samosa. It's about celebrating Kenyan culture. They have a wonderrful itenerary from music, to photography art and more. Start planning for it on the 29th of September and today too if you can go for some of the events. Find details here.
Ngoma Jazz Festival

Love Jazz? Then this right here is where to be. Starting today 28th September at the Goethe Institute. It goes on till tomorrow and features some of our favourite musicians like Sauti Sol, Ma3 and many more. Info here.
